“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:7-8
If you have the choice between love and selfishness, choose love. Always. You can never go wrong with choosing to love. Even if you have every reason to be bitter, even when the world has left you barren and you want to give up, choose love. Love doesn’t end, love doesn’t fail. Contrary to popular belief, the opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is selfishness, which breeds hate. Love is complete and utter selflessness. ”Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 16: 24-25).
Love and hate have eternal value, their marks stretch far past the generations we leave behind into the heavens.
